The Sentinel-6 which was launched back in 11/22/2020 has just finished calibration and is now operational. Sentinel-6 is equipped with a Synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) altimeter and an Advanced Microwave Radiometer for Climate (AMR-C). This enables Sentinel-6 to acquire measurements with better accuracy and less noise with respect to Jason-3 satellite regarding maritime. Specifically among other data Sentinel-6 provides data regarding the wind speed , the wave height and the sea height. This is very interesting to the team of Aratos Disaster Management. Moreover it provides new added value information regarding maritime. For more information head on to the official site.
